Parking Regulations – Whittier Read Before Safelisting Vehicle
- Oversized Vehicles: Oversized or commercial vehicles may be parked in designated areas ONLY while being loaded or unloaded. “Oversized vehicles” include those more than 18 feet long, 7 1⁄2 feet wide, or 7 feet high.
- Non-Powered Vehicles: Boats, trailers, or other non-powered vehicles not customarily used as a means of general transportation may be parked for a period not exceeding four (4) hours within any forty-eight (48) consecutive hour period, only incidental to loading or unloading.
- Display or Maintenance: No vehicle shall be parked in streets or reserved areas for the purpose of displays, maintenance, repair, rebuilding, dismantling, painting, or servicing.
- Oil-Dripping Vehicles: Vehicles with excess oil drips may not be parked anywhere other than the owner’s garage. Violators will be fined.
- Motorcycle Parking: Motorcycles must be parked in designated areas; they are not permitted on sidewalks or fire lanes.
- Towing Policy: All vehicles in violation of these regulations are subject to towing at the owner’s expense (Vehicle Code CVC2250.1 2VC22658.a).
- Operable Vehicles: Vehicles in parking spaces must be operable. No storing of vehicles with flat tires, no engines, etc., is allowed.
- Guest Parking: Guest parking is reserved for vehicles owned by residents’ guests. Residents are prohibited from parking their vehicles in guest areas. Vehicles owned by a resident’s guest parked overnight three (3) times in a one-month period will receive a final warning on the third night. On the fourth night, the vehicle will be towed. Board members have no control over towing.
- Unattended Car Wash: Cars being washed inside the complex must not be left unattended.
- Large or Commercial-Type Vehicles: No owner shall park, store, or keep large or commercial-type vehicles (including, but not limited to, dump trucks, cement mixer trucks, oil, or gas trucks) anywhere on the property or on the street abutting the gate or visible from the property. These vehicles will be towed without warning.
